Tokens were being refreshed twice on app resume, logging some users out. Traced it to a race in the startup effect.
A frustrating-but-satisfying debug session. The double refresh was introduced by StrictMode double-invoking effects in dev — but the same race could happen in production on slow networks. Guarded the refresh with an in-flight promise so concurrent calls share one request.
Geofence check-in now works with the classroom radius. Next: teacher-side live session view.
First end-to-end geofenced check-in worked on a real device today. Expo Location's accuracy on cheap Androids is rough (±25m), so the classroom radius is forgiving — 60m — while still blocking the "mark from the canteen" crowd.
Rebuilt the attendance monthly grid; it renders 10x faster now by virtualising rows.
The old grid re-rendered every cell on any state change. Memoised the cells, virtualised the rows, and the jank on 2-year-old phones is gone. Small change, big feel.
New screenshots for Daily Journal showing dark mode and the export flow.
Refreshed the Daily Journal listing. Took the screenshots on a 1080p device at night so dark mode shows honestly — install conversion already up slightly.
Split the monolithic Express router into domain modules with Zod validation on every route.
The routes file had grown past 1,500 lines. Now each domain (auth, employees, attendance, payroll) owns its module, and every input is validated before it touches the database. Adding endpoints is fun again.
Subject-wise tracking and a weekly focus report are live.
Released Study Timer v1.0.8. The subject-wise breakdown was the most requested feature — my own study sessions are already more honest now that I can see where the hours actually go.
Rewrote the normalization chapter with the "when is this table wrong" framing.
Normalization finally clicked for my juniors when I stopped teaching "1NF, 2NF, 3NF..." as a list and started from broken tables. Rewrote the whole chapter that way — it's now the most-downloaded section of my DBMS notes.
All APKs and note PDFs now serve from Cloudflare R2 on a custom domain. Egress: free.
Moved every public file to an R2 bucket behind files.tridib.dev. Downloads are noticeably faster in India and the egress bill is zero — the two things that mattered. Paid files stay in the private bucket, signed URLs only.
Razorpay test transactions pass end-to-end, including the webhook that grants access.
The full loop works in sandbox: buy → pay → webhook (signature verified) → purchase row → download unlocked. Idempotency tested by replaying the same webhook event twice — exactly one purchase record.
Preview pages now render at the right aspect ratio on every phone tested.
Fixed a preview bug where landscape-oriented pages rendered in portrait and got cut off. Resizing is now driven by the page's actual dimensions instead of a hardcoded guess.
Home-screen widget and saved places are live.
Weather App v2.1 is out. The widget was the whole release — "will it rain" without unlocking the phone. My mother uses it daily, which is the only review score I track.
Filter by subject, tags and access; search across titles and descriptions.
Designed and shipped the notes library. The access badges (free / login / paid) ended up doing the heavy lifting — people instantly know what they can grab versus what needs an account or purchase.
GitHub Actions now builds and signs release APKs on tag.
CI now produces signed APKs automatically when I push a version tag. No more "works on my laptop" releases — every APK in the store is built the same way, and the SHA-256 on each app page matches the CI artifact.
Rewriting DSA with Java around patterns instead of topics.
Started rewriting my DSA notes. The old version was organised like a textbook; the new one is organised like an interview — by pattern (two pointers, sliding window, and so on). It's longer but it reads faster.
