Employee Management App

Problem

A growing local business was running its entire workforce on spreadsheets — attendance in one file, salaries in another, history nowhere. Every payroll cycle took two days of manual cross-checking, and disputes had no paper trail.

What I built

A complete employee management system as a mobile-first app with a Node.js + MongoDB backend:

• Attendance module with monthly grid views and late/absent auto-calculation
• Salary engine that generates payroll from attendance rules in one click
• Employee profiles with full history — joins, increments, leaves, documents
• Role-based access so managers only see their own teams

The API runs on Express with validated inputs everywhere, and the app works offline-first for attendance marking in poor-network areas.

Result

Payroll that took two days now takes 20 minutes. The client has used it daily for over a year — 10K+ records processed with zero data-loss incidents.
